Now is the ideal time to check your voter registration status and details. You can do this easily on the Secretary of State’s website HERE . And don’t forget that you can apply to use mail-in ballots HERE. Keep your eyes open for deadlines! For example, for the Presidential Primary on March 5 the Voter Registration Deadline is February 24 and the Vote by Mail Application Deadline is February 27. Check the Town of Acton website for local voting information HERE.

Have conversations with your neighbors and friends in the community about what is happening locally. Make sure they have accurate information. This is up to all of us!

Thank you to all who attended our October General Meeting. We are happy to endorse the Local Option for Housing Affordability bill and the Act on Mass Sunlight agenda!!!

It has been a busy month - from wrapping up our table at the Acton Boxborough Farmers Market with our allies at Indivisible Acton-Area to hosting a table to help gather signatures for multiple ballot initiatives at the West Acton Oktoberfest, and joining in the Walk Against Hate with our community.

Our work is not done.

Take the the 14-Month Challenge from our allies at Indivisible Acton Area. Change happens one conversation at a time. Let’s get out in our community and get talking!

Thank you to all who attended the 36th Annual Acton-Boxborough Picnic! The rain moved us indoors but it did not dampen our spirits.

It was great to hear from Congresswoman Lori Trahan, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, State Auditor Diana DiZoglio, Senator Jamie Eldridge, State Representative Dan Sena, State Representative Simon Cataldo, Mass Dems Chair Steve Kerrigan, Mara Dolan for Governor’s Council, Marilyn M. Petitto Devaney-Governor's Council, representatives from IndivisibleActon and Act on Mass, and many distinguished guests!

Today marks the first day of National Hispanic Heritage Month. We acknowledge and commend the impact that Hispanic communities have had on shaping the United States throughout its history and in the contemporary era.

And we would like to wish all who celebrate, L’Shanah Tovah!

Congratulations to Select Board Member Re-elect Jim Snyder Grant, Select Board Member-Elect Alissa Nichol, School Committee-Elect members Tori Campbell, Leela Ramachandran, Yanxin Schmidt, Library Trustee-Elect Eric Schlesinger and Tom LeMire, Water District Commissioner Re-elect Stephen Stuntz, Water District Clerk Re-elect William Stanford and Moderator Re-elect Jo-Ann Berry!

Preliminary results are HERE. There are 15966 registered voters in Acton; 2188 cast ballots in this election. That’s a voter participation rate of 13.7%.

Acton Democratic Town Committee endorses the Fair Share Amendment (Ballot Question 1) and Safer Roads (Ballot Question 4)

At last night’s October meeting, we unanimously voted to endorse #YesOn1 and #YesOn4!

Mail-in ballots are arriving at voters’ homes. In-person early voting starts Saturday, October 22. Make sure you have a voting plan then check in with a family member or friend on their voting plan, and pass it on.

Find your way to #TakeAction for the midterms - whether it’s postcards, texting, calling, canvassing or donating. It is up to all of us.
